80 Million Egyptians Will Shake The Earth Tomorrow!!
November 13, 2009 in Social Media | Tags: Egypt, Social Media | 1 comment
As Egyptians, we have always been known for our friendly and social nature. We always expressed our opinions with friends and family regardless; this has been our way to stay connected with each other, and enjoy our distinctive cultural values. No matter who we are (social or religious differences), we become one big family in times of need. Today, with social media tools, we have been able to extend relations in powerful new ways.
As Egypt prepares for its match with Algeria tomorrow, November 14, 2009, for the 2010 World Cup Qualifications in South Africa, multinational corporations and media stations have focused their advertising on one thing, and one thing only for the past month: Let’s cheer for Egypt!
The historical event takes place tomorrow at the Cairo Stadium. As security measures continue, psyched youth and adults swarm the streets of Cairo (and probably every other city in Egypt), waving the Egyptian flag and chanting support slogans for tomorrow’s game. Satellites, radios, corporate and news websites, and social media (blogs, tweets, facebook, etc.) throughout the Middle East are also exploding with emotional promos and support networks.
Generating WOM, viral and buzz marketing have hyped every Egyptian around the globe- prepping them with background history, pictures and interactive dialogues with sports experts, supporters and team members. And like the true face of word of mouth, every media channel has asked that at 7:25pm (Cairo Time) tomorrow (November 14, 2009), 80 million Egyptians shake the earth with ‘YA RAB’ (with God’s help).
